Hello everybody out there in HeroClix land this, once again, is Scott Porter! I am here to invite you to our second annual “Heroclix for Huntington’s” event weekend, an incredible Heroclix event taking place in-person and virtually May 5th through 7th, 2023.
Heroclix for Huntington’s is held in partnership with WizKids and ROC, and it is all to benefit the Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA) and their fight against this terrible disease. Everyone who takes part in this event is a superhero to a family in need for sure.
We will have something for every HeroClix fan out there all weekend long. Thursday evening is reserved for a welcome event. Friday holds our “Scott Porter VS the World” Sealed Event for those joining us in-person (yes, I will be playing!), as well as our massive online auction hosted by Auxxit, open to everyone, on Friday evening. Saturday holds an extreme highlander team tournament and Sunday brings us the grand finale, “Scott Porter Invitational Silver Age ROC World Championship”. Battle Royales will be running in person all weekend as well with online Battle Royales running Thursday – Sunday.

Now, what is Huntington’s Disease and why is it worth battling for a cure? HD is a genetic neurodegenerative disease often referred to as having ALS, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s all rolled into one. It is called the “quintessential family disease” as every child of an HD positive parent has a 50/50 shot of inheriting this destructive disease. There are approximately 41,000 symptomatic Americans battling HD (including my own mother-in-law), and over 200,000 Americans who are gene-positive (like my own wife) or at-risk of being HD positive.
As you can see this is personal for me. The HDSA motto is “Family is Everything” and now I turn to you, my HeroClix family, for help. I have been a part of this incredible community since the day the game released. I have been a player, an envoy, an ambassador, and your unboxing guy for the better part of two decades and I have witnessed the incredible spirit this community possesses. I humbly ask you now to join us this weekend and help us battle this thing together.
The prizing for this event is out of this world, chock full of all the goodies you have come to expect at major events as well as incredible auction items and prizes you will only find at the “Heroclix for Huntington’s” event weekend. All of this fun and excitement is for an amazing cause as we try to use our community’s collective might to end Huntington’s Disease and support those living with it. So, let’s roll some (virtual) dice and raise some (real) money for this incredible organization! Every cent raised will go directly to the HDSA to arm them in their fight for a cure and their mission to support those tens of thousands of Americans battling HD right now. Until I see you at the event, or even if I don’t, MAY ALL YOUR ROLLS BE CRITICAL HITS!
